Obfuscater.net: Stardust (obfuscater)
“What do you want to be when you get older?”
They ask that like one day you won’t be getting older.
One day you won’t be getting older,
But by then you won’t be anything.
“What other time is there than now?”
They ask that like there is no other time than now,
Like what came before was meaningless,
What is to come is meaningless,
Like all that is is now.
Yet somewhere ’twixt these two extremes
Is stardust that defines itself;
Defines autonomy and needs it,
Defines slavery and fears it,
Defines empathy and feels it.
All we are is stardust but that’s not all we are,
And all of us have but two tasks:
What do you want to be when you get older?
Because you’re still getting older,
So be what you want to be.
All we are is stardust, but that’s not all we are.
