So You Wander

So you wander, lost and helpless,
Through the sea of discontent,
Through a world of double-standards,
Where what's not said is meant,

And you float, unconcerned,
Above petty disputes and trials,
Above sarcasm and mockery,
Above all the painted smiles

That hide the real people,
The real feelings,
The real hopes,
The real meanings.

Instead they talk in management,
But their words wash off like rain,
Even if you chose to,
You couldn't be the same.

So you wonder, vague but always,
Why there's so much discontent,
And whether these people realise,
Your time is better spent.
